Self, KU focused on Richmond, not seed
San Antonio, Texas -- Before Bill Self had the opportunity to get settled into KU's locker room inside the Alamodome, he was escorted to the media room via a golf cart for his first scheduled press conference of the Sweet 16. Kansas (34-2; 17-2), the top seed in the Southwest Region, will look to advance to the Elite Eight on Friday night at 6:27 CST. However, before the Jayhawks stamp their ticket to the next round, they'll have to contend with a Richmond (29-7; 16-3) team that's in the midst of a nine game winning streak. The Spiders advanced to the round of 16 by defeating Vanderbilt and Morehead State. Self, who guided Kansas to a national championship in 2008, which was played in the same location, is happy to be back in San Antonio, but is looking to create some new memories.
