Multiple ways of success
Mississippi State is out of the gate with an impressive 11-1 record.
Perhaps what is more remarkable is the way the Bulldogs have done it. MSU has used five different starting lineups along the way and reeled off 10 consecutive wins.
At times this year Rick Stansbury has had to mix and match his starters due to injuries to Renardo Sidney, Arnett Moultrie and a three-game suspension for Brian Bryant.
"I don't worry about starting lineups," said Stansbury. "It ain't who starts and I put no stock in that. I would say the other day (against Detroit) that Brian Bryant played a lot more minutes off the bench than if he would've started. Jalen (Steele)'s been starting and I am comfortable with that role he is in. We will go that way again. How long we stay that way? Who knows. But it isn't who starts but who finishes that game.
"With Bryant back, we will have him play some three and we haven't had that versatility those two weeks leading into that last game. Dee (Bost) plays some one, two and three and probably won't be as much three now with Bryant back but he has played it."
