? Six seniors went in the first round, tied for the sixth-highest total this decade; there also were six taken in the first round in 2007. There were 11 seniors drafted in 2000 and '05, nine in '03, eight in '06 and seven in '02. Five were taken in 2008 and four were picked in 2001 and '04.

? The ACC led the way with seven first-round selections, though none were in the top 10. The Pac-10 had six, including three in the top 10. The Big East had four, the Big 12 two and the Big Ten, Colonial, Conference USA, Southern and West Coast had one each. The SEC had none. There were six international players picked, and we're including Brandon Jennings ? who played in Italy last season ? in that group.

? The six first-round selections give the Pac-10 13 in the past two drafts. The ACC is second with eight and the Big East third with seven.

? The ACC has had at least one first-round selection in each of the past 21 drafts, the longest such streak in the nation.

? The ACC, Big East and Pac-10 each had nine players selected overall, tying for the most from any league. The Big 12 and C-USA had four each, the SEC had three, the Atlantic 10 and Big Ten two each and the Colonial, Ohio Valley, Southern and West Coast one each. There were 13 international players chosen, including Jennings and former Arkansas guard Patrick Beverley, who played in the Ukraine last season. In the past two drafts, the Pac-10 leads with 19 draftees, followed by the Big 12 with 14 and the ACC and Big East with 13 each.

? Oklahoma's Blake Griffin was the first-ever No. 1 pick from the Big 12. The last player from a conference school taken No. 1 overall was Kansas' Danny Manning in 1988, when the Jayhawks were in the Big Eight.

? Griffin was just the second player from one of the "Big Six" conferences taken No. 1 overall in the past 10 drafts, joining Ohio State's Greg Oden in 2007. Cincinnati's Kenyon Martin went first in 2000, but the Bearcats were in Conference USA then.
