Mississippi State hopes to keep their three-game winning streak alive today taking on UCLA as part of the John Wooden Classic in Anaheim, Ca.
The Bulldogs are playing their best basketball of the season of late winning their last three outings by an average of 32.3 points in wins over Old Dominion, St. Bonaventure and DePaul.
Today is MSU's third trip to Anaheim and participating in the Wooden Classic for the second time The Bulldogs previous showing resulted in a 68-64 loss to Arizona in 2004.
State has met the Bruins once on the hardwood in a 86-67 loss in the Sweet 16 back in 1995.The Bulldogs have a 5-10 record all-time against Pac-10 foes.
Mississippi State is 6-2 on the year averaging 76.2 points and shooting 45.9-percent per game this season. The Bulldogs have also knocked down 41.7-percent from the outside and 71.6-percent from the free throw line. They have also outrebounded their opponents by 9.5 this season. Their opposition is averaging 59 points and has been limited to 37.3-percent from the field.
