UCLA loses Wooden Classic for loss No. 6
UCLA lost its sixth game out of its first eight 72 to 54 as the Bruins offense is once again missing in action. UCLA shot only 34.4 percent from the floor while Mississippi St. shot 47.5percent. The Bruins shot only 20 percent from the 3-point line and a miserable 46.2 percent from the free throw line.
The Bruin team again was weak early, never leading in the game and going behind by 21 points, 40 to 19 at the half. The lack of offensive execution, poor shooting and overall effort doomed the Bruins to another bad performance against a good but not great team.
Michael Roll led UCLA with 17 points and Malcolm Lee got 16. No one else scored in double figures and Nikola Dragovic went 0 for 9 scoring zero points. Reeves Nelson got five points and eight rebounds, Roll grabbed seven boards and Lee got four rebounds. Jerime Anderson scored four points as did J'mison Morgan. Tyler Honeycutt got six points and Mike Moser scored two points. Shooting only 22 for 64, the Bruins were the team that couldn't shoot straight and the final score was somewhat deceptive as the last ten minutes of the game featured many subs.
