UCLA Cruises to a Win against the Cougars

UCLA needed an easy win to start to right their program and Washington St. gave it to them tonight as the Bruins walked to a 20 point win 71 to 51 in Pullman. The Cougars took an early lead and had a four point lead at the 16:18 mark of the first half 10 to 6. UCLA then went on an 18 to 5 run to lead 24 to 15 with 10:37 left in the half.

Washington State played a soft full court press that UCLA exploited for many easy shots. The Bruins shot a super 70 percent in the first half to the Cougars' horrible 33 percent from the floor.

UCLA hit 5 of their 9 three point shots but only 3 for 7 of their free throws. Reeves Nelson fell on his forehead after getting a dunk with 4 minutes to go in the first half and opened a large gash above his right eye. It took 15 stitches to close the wound. UCLA made another run 14 to 2 to finish the half up by 14 points, 40 to 26.
