Bruins survive scare at Pauley
UCLA got an early Christmas present from UC Irvine when the Anteaters missed a last second shot and UCLA escaped with a one point victory, 74 to 73. The game started with Irvine hitting the first shot. UCLA made one of two free throws and then a two pointer by Joshua Smith to lead by one and the game was on its way. Irvine then scored a basket to take back the lead before Malcolm Lee hit a three pointer to give the Bruins a lead which they never relinquished.
