Florida preview

Mississippi State will try to bounce back with a quick turnaround from their heartbreaking loss against Vanderbilt on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs will square off against another ranked opponent when No. 24 Florida travels to Humphrey Coliseum at noon today.

MSU (10-9, 2-3) let Thursday night's game slip away in the waning moments after a hard fought battle and hope to be in better position today against the Gators.

Florida holds the series edge 57-48 but the Bulldogs have won three of the last four meetings and six of the last 10 in Starkville. However, State head coach Rick Stansbury is 0-10 against the Gators while they are ranked in the Top 25.

The two teams split last season's outings with Florida winning at home 69-62 during the regular season before the Bulldogs prevailed 75-69 in the SEC Tournament. Ravern Johnson led Mississippi State with 20 points during the regular season meeting in Gainesville.
