The Marquette game in a nutshell

Vanderbilt scored a huge 74-57 road win over Marquette on Thursday night. VandySports.com's Chris Lee and Jesse Johnson
weigh in with all the important details of the Commodores' victory.

Turning point:
Trailing 2-0 just 37 seconds into the game, Vandy went on a 19-2 run and led 19-4 after a Jeffery Taylor free throw, and VU eventually went to the half up 22.

Marquette never really got close enough to make a legitimate run, which is always a concern for a Commodore squad that's blown so many double-digit leads the last two seasons. The Golden Eagles did have an 11-3 spurt midway through the second half to cut Vandy's lead to 16, and on VU's next possession, Taylor headed towards the lane and banked home a long shot with the shot clock running down. Marquette never really challenged again.
