Stanback fits the Bruin profile

The Bruins have continued their winnings ways with the verbal committal of four-star forward Chase Stanback from Los Angeles (Calif.) Fairfax. Stanback hails from the same high school program that brought the Bruins standout swingman Josh Shipp. By all accounts Stanback is far from the finished product and will only get better.

Stanback has an outstanding all-around game and has the desire to get better in every aspect of the sport of basketball.

Stanback was already getting a lot of recruiting attention and has an offer from Oregon. Other schools that were showing interest in Stanback are Arizona, Arizona State, Southern Cal, Washington, Gonzaga and North Carolina.

As a junior, Stanback averaged 17.5 points per game, 8.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

Probably the most important thing about Stanback is he fits the mold of a Ben Howland type player. He's team oriented, unselfish, can score and can defend.

Excellent get for UCLA program that is getting back to where the Bruin faithful long them to be.
