Hoya Shock and Awe Rules Day

November 23, 2008 - Prior to Georgetown's 1 pm matchup with Drexel yesterday, this writer took the position that contest would turn on whether the Hoyas' guards could handle Drexel's well known man to man defensive pressure, thereby allowing the team's big men to feast inside. Players positioned around the paint, including freshman Greg Monroe (20 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three blocks, three steals) did flourish in the 81-53 victory, but in many ways the game turned on G'Town's perimeter players success on both ends of the floor.
