Self: BC is very good

Before the No. 11 ranked Kansas Jayhawks (9-2; 0-0) take time to enjoy a brief Holiday break, they'll entertain the Boston College Eagles (7-2; 1-0) on Saturday afternoon. The first 11 games of the year didn't go quite as expected for Bill Self and his squad, but now that class is over for the semester, the Hawks can focus all of their attention on basketball, which is exactly was Self plans to do.

"This is not an excuse, but we've had a tough deal with our class schedule," said Self. "You guys know, when you talk to the guys, its 4:30, 4:45 or 5:00. They have tutors at 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00. It's been a full day where they actually leave this building at 11:00 at night.

"The next day it's the same thing again," he added. "It's nobody's fault, it's just the way the class schedule fell and the class they had to take. That's one thing we hope we can correct next semester. Since schools been out, or even during finals week, there wasn't as much pressure on them. They weren't occupied 16 of the 24 hours a day. I feel they have a free mind right now."
